About The Thinking Engine

We built the analytics service we wished existed when we were running ads.

The Thinking Engine was founded by paid media practitioners who spent years drowning in dashboards, building reports nobody read, and watching agencies grade their own homework. We knew there had to be a better way.

The problem we lived

Before The Thinking Engine, our founding team spent years in the trenches of paid media — managing campaigns, building reports, and trying to make sense of data scattered across Meta, Google, TikTok, Shopify, and a dozen other platforms.

Every Monday morning looked the same: log into five platforms, export data, paste it into a spreadsheet, try to reconcile numbers that never quite matched, build slides, and present findings to leadership. By the time the report was done, the data was already stale. And the report itself? Mostly metrics. Very little strategy.

We tried every tool on the market. Attribution platforms gave us better dashboards, but we still had to do the analysis ourselves. Agencies included reporting in their retainers, but they were grading their own homework. Hiring an in-house analyst was expensive, took months, and created a single point of failure.

"We realized the market was full of tools that showed you data — but nobody was doing the hard work of turning it into strategy. Nobody was delivering a finished deck with answers ready for Monday."

So we built it. The Thinking Engine pairs AI-powered analysis with senior growth operators who cherrypick the most relevant insights, filter the noise, and apply first-principles thinking. You set the direction and provide feedback. We iterate every two weeks. The result is a compounding strategic advantage — not more data, but clear options to act on.

What we believe

These principles guide every analysis we deliver and every recommendation we make.

Strategy over metrics

Anyone can pull a ROAS number. We exist to answer the harder question: what should you do about it? Every analysis we deliver is oriented toward action, not just observation.

Compounding knowledge

We believe the most valuable analytics are not point-in-time snapshots — they are accumulated understanding of how your business performs over time. That is why our service gets more valuable the longer you use it.

Radical honesty

We do not manage your ads. We have no incentive to hide bad performance or inflate good results. Our analysis is built on first-principles thinking — we seek the truth about what your data says and present options for what to do about it.

Human judgment, AI scale

AI is extraordinary at processing data at scale. Humans are extraordinary at cherrypicking what matters and applying strategic judgment. We combine both — the AI crunches, the human filters the noise and presents options you can act on.

The team behind your decks

Every The Thinking Engine client is assigned a senior growth operator — not a junior analyst reading from a script, but someone with years of hands-on experience managing and analyzing paid media campaigns across industries.

Our growth operators have collectively managed over $200M in ad spend across DTC eCommerce, SaaS, lead generation, and marketplace businesses. They have seen what works, what does not, and — most importantly — they know how to translate data patterns into strategic action.

Behind the operators, our AI engineering team builds and maintains the analytical engine that processes your data. The AI handles the computational heavy lifting — cross-platform data synthesis, anomaly detection, trend analysis, and pattern recognition — so the human operators can focus on what they do best: cherrypicking the insights that matter and applying first-principles strategic judgment.
